I intended a chronological order of events to narrate but procrastination did me no good. I shall make do with the remaining of what my memory and fingers have to offer. Nothing much fascinating, just a brief summation of my holiday trip I never really did anticipate. Throughout my vacation, a familiar stranger had been clouding my mind. Since then, I have been cogitating, trying to figure out who exactly is that charming someone.
Day 1 was short of fun and long in line. When we arrived at Harbour Front, all hungry for eats, my daddy suggested fast food at your friendly neighbourhood restaurant, McDonald's. I hardly ever eat there these days so I was pretty much in for some tasty processed fries.
The rest of the time before we were physically on board of the liner was spent waiting in line and out of line. If not for my mobile phone, I would have probably died of severe boredom and perhaps frustration as well. A short call from Shayne and texts from BBF and dearest chased a huge fraction of boredom away.
The queue to the final check-in was almost the length of River Nile, better known as the Nile. Frustration was gradually building up along with the time ticking. After the seemingly everlasting wait, the line was speeding up and we were close to the glass doors enough to throw a rock to smash them to vent our bottled frustrations. Sanity refrained us.
I was sandwiched between people that were practically worlds apart. Hovering behind me was a bunch of boisterous young adults, evidently foreigners, making a din as if it was not noisy enough. Them pushing their way forward only increased their level of annoyance. Lingering in front was a family of both young and old. An elderly man I presume the grandfather of the family, took a step back graciously and told me to go ahead of him. A simple act, perhaps meaningless to you, moved me and it consoled my heart for a bit.
If you have been on a cruise, specifically Superstar Virgo, you would know the usual drill of photo taking with the mascot. I was reluctant at first, but I obliged anyway, softening at the warm welcome by the mascot. What I did not anticipate was the second snapping of picture, but this time, it was with a performer. Apparently, there were two lanes, one with the male lead, and another, the lady. It was unfortunate I took an individual picture with the latter as the male performer at the next lane was so cute! What a pity.
Anyhow, we eventually embarked the liner by ten and decided to grab a bite at Mediterranean which had been paid for, so it was supposedly free buffet. To our dismay, the queue formed at the entrance turned us off. Alternatively, we had supper at Blue Lagoon. One of my preferred eatery on board. Come to think of it, Superstar Virgo holds many childhood memories for me.
Visiting The Lido, a show lounge, is almost like a tradition, but seeing the crowd eagerly waiting to make an entrance into the theatre made me want to scream in horror and make an escape. However, my daddy insisted on keeping up with the legacy so I obliged involuntarily. By the end of the show, I was glad I had made it there. Those hot Caucasians made it so worthwhile. My gaze mainly focused on two blondies, one of which was the male performer I mentioned earlier.
Whilst the Caucasians took on the easier role of keeping us entertained with their glitz and dance routines, the China performers amazed us with their nimble yet masculine bodies and fine acrobatic skills. What I failed to appreciate was the act by two contortionists. Not that it was unimpressive, I just felt that it was silly to watch. On the other hand, I was very absorbed by the dances and you know why :D
My day ended with a relaxing stroll on the deck of that colossal ship. That sure is something I will never miss. Usually on the second night, the wind will get so strong you can drool just by opening your mouth. I did not experience that this time, but the wind was chilly enough for my liking. We lingered at the stern of this metal piece and admired the city from a distance. The panoramic view was simply mind-blowing. Those dazzling diamonds hanging in the sky gave me a queer sense of comfort. I am more than willing to spend a lifetime doing just that.
Day 2 started off with a late breakfast at Mediterranean accompanied by some dessert at the ice cream parlour I always patronise, Cafe Gelato. Thereafter, we popped by Galaxy of the Stars I used to frequent.
In mid afternoon, we disembarked the liner at its port of call, Port Klang, where Superstar Virgo meets Superstar Libra, the ship BBF was on along with her course mates. A photographer approached me and initiated a picture. What better way to express my appreciation than to agree?
We made our way up Genting Highlands on a coach and I had forty winks throughout most of the journey. Apart from the chilly weather up on the mountains, I cannot think of anything else I enjoyed.
Day 3, or the third night, rather, I made a trip down to my favourite bakery at Genting Hotel. I was hoping for last year's cupcakes as they were simply exquisite. I recall having a couple of them during my last visit. Peering from behind the glass cabinet, disappointment crawled over my face. They provided new assortment of pastries, leaving out my old favourites. Fine, I was adamant not to leave empty-handed, so I got myself two cupcakes, whilst to my surprise, my brother got four pastries. Not any four little cute cupcakes, but four big pastries. Cinnamon Danish larger than the size of my palm, Turkey and Mushroom Quiche and two other slices of cakes. I was further disappointed when I tried my cupcakes as they taste nothing like the ones before. Do not get me wrong, they still taste fine, just not on par with my expectations.
Day 4
Day 5 practically offered me another feast for my eyes. My daddy arranged budget flight, Air Asia, for our return trip. He said no harm since we have yet to try, besides, it is only a short journey and we can make do without the food and services. It was most definitely the best decision as LCCT, also known as the budget terminal, has more Caucasians than you can imagine.
One that caught my eye and became the object of my attraction was this cute guy in a white hoodie. What was unfortunate is that he is probably ages younger than me. Two three years, perhaps. I captured his gaze a time or two but it sure was an awkward moment there. He made my day, really. Did I just say that?
The flight back was simply fantastical (minus all the excruciating pain I felt from the pressures when the plane was dropping altitudes). Less than an hour of journey and I took over a hundred and one pictures.
Every plane is a miracle.
That is basically it for my short trip to Malaysia. Tada!
Knickers.
